The Final Countdown: Game 6 Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat
This is it. It all has come down to two game sevens for the Miami Heat. They are in a fight for their lives. The NBA would have a classic super team if they win. The same can not be said if the Dallas Mavericks win. Everyone gunning for the Heat. Although they are not as hated the old time Bad Boys of Detroit. They are never the less hated.
From the start the Dallas Mavericks have been a favorite among NBA analyst, fans and those that play the game. One can just take a look at Twitter feeds and trends to see who people really want to win the game. Technology has played a great part in the sport more so than ever. With two minutes left in each quarter the referees are able to review certain calls to make sure they were the right ones. Shaq just ended his NBA career on a social media site.
The Dallas Mavericks were brought by a man who made his fortune from the great internet boom of the 90′s. Their lockers are all teched out with HDTV’s and DVR’s so they can replay parts of any game. What does that have to do with winning the Finals. It helps them be prepared for games and get instant access at key moments. They can go into halftime review plays on video rather than on paper. Make changes that affect points on the floor.
Tonight everyone knows what needs to happen. James has to play like we all know he can. I think he got use to not being the main focus on the team. It is not like it use to be in Cleveland. He does not have to score 70% of his teams points to win. That being said in Miami he needs to score at least 30. That is something he has not done this whole series. Look for James to be more focused this game. Look for him go to the basket hard and often. When he does that the air space will open up for shots. The only risk is that he may become a ball hog with all the pressure.
For Dallas to win all they have to do is what they have been doing. Force double teams and pass out to the open man for an open shot. Also more pick and rolls for Dirk. defensively they need to play more full court to stop the fast breaks.
Heat win by 2 but Dallas can walk with heads up high
Miami Heat almost lost this game. In fact if Dirk was making his shots like the last series they would have. It seems Miami wins 3 quarters of every game but when they get to the 4th; it’s a meltdown. Although they didn’t blow this one; it was mighty close to a letdown. It all came down to a last second shot by Dirk. A shout he should have made. Now Miami is just two wins from an NBA champion.
The Heat were able to hold Dallas off and win 88-86. The victory over the Dallas Mavericks was a clear example of why Miami will win the championship. Dirk had no one else to rely on. Even with a bad finger he still was the only option for the Mavericks at the end. Although he should have made the last second shot it still would have been nice to have a plan B. Miami how has a 2-1 lead in the NBA finals.
History says the Game 3 winner in a tied finals has won the championship all 11 times since the 2-3-2 format began in 1985. Dirk has made his own history this year. I look for him to try very hard to change this one; for as great as Miami is with 2 superstars (Wade & James) and 1 Super Role Player (Bosh) they still are winning by the other team missing last second shots. It should not be that close if they are that good. I still say Miami wins the ring in 7.
Heat beat Bulls as expected. The Finals are set and will be Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks
Heat beat Bulls as expected. . Think about it for a moment, at 3:14 to go and the score 77-65. One would think the game is over but you would be wrong. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade went on a 18 point run to come back. Let’s not give too much credit to the Heat. The Bulls did not score and gave away the ball via turn overs. Now that the Bulls are out of it what will happen in the off season. Hopefully they get Rose some help to offload the scoring. Not another cutter but someone that can make their own shot or attract the defense a little.
The Finals are set and will be Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks. As I said yesterday it is clear that the finals would be Dallas Vs. Miami. The only thing left to debate is how many games will it take for Miami to win the ring. I know what you are thinking; Dallas has Dirk “I can make any shot” Nowitzki but so what? The same thing that happen to the Bulls will happen to Dallas. They will have an unfair match on their hands. The whole series will be Dirk (1 person) vs. James & Wade (2 people) that is too much to ask anyone to take on. Even for a great player like Dirk. Kidd and J.J. are good players but not good enough to match up with the Heat talent.
Bulls go down again. The Heat go up 2-1. Bosh shows he is not soft
Sunday’s critical Game 3 was close for almost all 48 minutes. Noah usually plays very well for Chicago Bulls as a clean up man but tonight he did not do that. He got less than 10 rebounds. The only person that played well for the Bulls was Carlos Boozer. He did his part but it was not enough. Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat played with a chip on his shoulder the whole game. He end up with more than 30 points.
The Eastern Conference finals is going to be won in the 4th quarter. That is when teams do muster a last run of 9 to 12 points. Those las few minutes will decide who gets that W. This night it was the Heat. They have 2 superstars and a great role player in Bosh. As I said before they can share the load. Rose does not have that luxury. If he does not get at least 30 points the Bulls can not win this series. 20 points is not going to cut it.
This is going to be an extremely physical and defensive minded series. The games are all going to be sub 100. That is what happens when you have two very good defenses going at each other. Tonight’s 96-85 victory was more a testament to how well the Bulls played rather than how well the Heat scored. James only had 22 and Wade had 17 not so super but it was enough since they had another person to lean on.
NBA Playoffs are all tied up: Bulls vs. Heat (1-1) & Dallas vs. Thunder (1-1)
There was none of that high five this game for Dallas. They were taken down by the Thunder. Kevin Durant had 24 points and James Harden gave another 23 points. Oklahoma City Thunder won the game 106-100 over the Dallas Mavericks. Western Conference finals is now tied at one game each. Durant made all the difference down the stretch.Reserves Eric Maynor, Nick Collison and Daequan Cook helped Durant to take down Dallas. This is going to be a back and forth match up. I see 7 games and Dallas taking it.
Dirk Nowitzki played very well like he always does scoring 29 points. He had 16 in the fourth quarter alone. Nowitzki took only 10 free throws not the ridiculous 24 he had in game 1. Dirk missed a free throw. After going 24 for 24 it seemed like a big deal. This game series is going to be exciting. Now on to the Eastern Conference Finals.
This is the series that everyone is really watching. This is the one that should be the finals. It is showing us all that it is well worth the viewership of NBA fans everywhere. The Bulls won game one due to great playing. In game two the Heat were not having that. This is going to be no cake walk for either team. James came to play in game two. He had 29 points and Dwyane Wade added 24. The Miami Heat ended up beating the Chicago Bulls 85-75. The Eastern Conference finals at now tied one game apiece.
Dear Miami Heat, This is Chicago letting you know it’s not going to be cake walk. Bulls beat Heat 103-82
Ask Coach Vinny Del Negro if the Chicago Bulls had a chance to beat the Miami Heat tonight and he would have had said “What you talking about?” As a loyal fan I wanted the Bulls to win. As a coach Vinny Del Negro has no choice but to say the Bulls would win. As a fan we have no choice but to say the Bulls would win. As a realist you have to look at the players and the stats.
On paper the Bulls should not win any of the games. Instead they should be swept. Then there is this funny thing called life. Life if not played on paper. In life things happen. The Bulls took out the Heat in game one because of how they played the whole year. They played as a team. Everyone played a part. The other part is Bosh. When Bosh scores 30 and James scores 15 that is a problem.
The Big 2 did not come to play Sunday night. James and Wade hardly played after halftime. The score was tied up at the Half. After halftime it was the Bosh show. He scored most of the points for his team. That would work in T. Dot but not in Miami. In Miami James and Wade are the ones that need to score the high number of points because it helps others get into the game. That did not happen so the Heat lost.
Now Heat fans before you get all upset just know as I stated before you all will win the series. The Heat will take it in 6 as I stated before. The Heat have to win at least one in the windy city though. I am still one of those looking at what the paper says. It’s going to take some work to look past that. For now it’s Bulls all the way.
Miami Heat Vs. Chicago Bulls: just an F.Y.I. This is also your NBA Finals
Tonight is a night of first for many reasons. 1st this is the Heats first run at a championship with some real help for Dwyane Wade since Shaq came over. This is the 1st series where LeBron James does not have to put a team on his back. It’s also the first time where Derrick Rose will feel out matched.
Let me clear something up. I am a Bulls fan. I have loved the Bulls before they won their 1st championship. I am also a realist. The Bulls have one great player that can take over a game and give you at the most 40 points. The Bulls have a lot of role players but no support system for their young Superstar. As good as MVP Derrick Rose is he can not do what a more talented LeBron James failed to do in Cleveland. He can not win an NBA Championship on his own.
That being said the fate of the whole NBA is resting on this series that is best out of 7. Who ever does win this series will win the ring. Neither team has to worry about powerhouse Orlando or Lakers or Spurs. All teams with a big inside presence in the form of a strong center or big forward. Just a big body in general blocking that lane for easy dunks and layups. Point guards will have a field day on the court. Fast breaks will be a plenty. Or so we hope. Truth of the matter is these game may end up being pure clinics on defense. Both teams play it well. The difference maker is going to be in the numbers games. 3 vs. 1 (really 2 vs. 1 Bosh is not a Superstar)
The NBA championship is the Miami Heats to give away. They are the only ones that can stand in their way. Lucky thing for Bulls fans such as myself is that, the Heat do just that very often. The series will go to 6 Heat win last game by 5. Place your bets now.
Miami Heat take down the Boston Celtics. Now that they have beat the Celtics: Is the Ring next?
Just like when the Jordan Bulls of old finally got past the Pistons. The win tonight by Miami Heat over the Boston Celtics will be the first stepping stone for them to win the ring. Lakers would have been their only road block. With Orlando and Boston out of the way there is no one left to stop them in the East. Now before you say anything; I love the Bulls. They are my favorite NBA team but lets be honest. Just like LeBron James when he was in Cleveland. Derrick Rose has no support system.
As good as Rose is, as great as Jordan was and LeBron James was they could not do it alone. Jordan had Scottie Pippen. LeBron James has Wade. Rose has… Thats right no one. For all it’s Superstars the NBA is still a team game. That is the main reason everyone expects Dwight Howard to leave Orlando for a home with a better support system. If he goes to LA Lakers, Kobe would have his go to center just like to good old days when Shaq was a force to be feared.
Now what about the Celtics. I think everyone is over reacting. They still have some legs left. They do not have to disband to win another championship. I also think this lost is a good thing. It is great for them mentally and for their ego. They were too sure of themselves. They should have never traded Perkins and bet on Shaq. Now they can focus and realize they are mortal. Mortals are can be beat. So they will work.
NBA Playoffs: Not a walkthrough for top seeds
Seems these #nbaplayoffs are going to be closer than I thought. Both #BULLS and #Heat almost got beat today.
Rose MVP, Bulls 60+ wins. The most wins since Mr. Air Jordan ran the Bulls. Yet the number 8 seed almost took them out. In fact it was touch and go until a few minutes in the fourth quarter. LeBron MVP, Wade MVP, Heat more than 50+ wins. Yet they almost got took out as well. What s going on? Simple. The NBA playoffs are not the regular season. These teams went in thinking it as going to be a cake walk were violently woken up and sadly mistaken.
This years playoffs are going to be similar to the March Madness of the NCAA. Meaning here will be some upsets. That is not to see that Bulls are going to lose to the Pacers but they will have their hands full. That goes for everyone in the playoffs this year. There are going to be upsets. I’m calling it now. NO SWEEPS for any team in the 1st round.
